About the Union for Ethical BioTrade

The Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT) is a non-profit association that promotes “respectful procurement” of ingredients derived from biodiversity. Members commit to ensuring that their sourcing practices gradually promote biodiversity conservation, respect traditional knowledge and ensure the equitable distribution of benefits throughout the supply chain.

Membership in UEBT implies the establishment of a Biodiversity Management System that covers all natural ingredient sourcing practices and not just certain supply chains. A UEBT member can use their logo to illustrate that they are working to align their practices with those of Ethical BioTrade. However, the logo applies to the organization and its sourcing principles, rather than to specific product compliance. In this sense, the logo is designed to be used by the corporate communications area of ​​the company and not for specific product marketing.

The 7 principles of UEBT BioTrade are:

• Biodiversity conservation – Preserving ecosystems and promoting practices that conserve and restore biodiversity.

• Legal Compliance – Respect for all relevant international, national and local standards.
